..a Chilled Tale about Life.

So urm, have you ever argued passionately about something only to find out later on that you were wrong and have been quite the fool? Then you find it pretty easy to tickle your Rectum with hot coal than admit you’re a fool and apologize for your contribution to Global warming? I dont know about you but it has happened to  me. In my Teenage years though. Those years when I was always right. Growing up, I’ve learnt to actually calm down and look up facts or scrutinise objects properly before I give my opinion or air my thoughts. However, there’re still some issues, I would blindly jump into an arguement about, like some crazed Benin Demon high on Agbalumo Smoothie. Issues like if the Big Man upstairs copied and pasted Cockroach brains in GEJ’s head.

Life is one big court. There’s always something to share one Knicker about. There’s always a bone of contention begging for attention (Yay! I rhymed). Seriously. You can’t tell someone about how painfully foolish and ignorant they are and expect them not to tell you why you’re a senile bastard and then cite examples of idiots that should’nt breed. That’s not the point of this post however. Lets get deeper shall we? Ever had the priviledge to stare at pins or images through a Rectangular or Triangular glass prism? If you have, well I hope you didnt get as much head-slaps as I did, everytime I penciled down something wrong. If you haven’t, ever wondered why some people find some hilarious TV programs, a yawn-fest? An example is Jibola the Okpelenge Nigga that finds something fantabulous as porn, pretty much Hilarious. What I’m just trying to say in English is, we’re all different and our interpretation of certain issues are supposed to differ. Me nko? I’m one of the few straight guys that loathe football. I only watch it when my BIS has expired or if I made a bet. I’ll watch and smile at my TV when Chelsea lately is on than watch rich fucks chase round leather about. I only support Chelsea FC because Blue is the color of love. Forgive me please, I’m really sorry.

Take a look at the picture below and tell me how many sticks you see?

The fucka on the left saw 4 and the fucka on the right saw 3. How many do you see? I asked a lotta peeps via BBm and some said 4, a lot said 3, another said 7 and some other Dude said 8. There! Different views, different interpretations. Now, how many do I see? I see Two. Look again and Shurrup.. I’m always right.

You see, everyone has a right to interpret what they see, how they feel they saw it. However, we really need to keep our Estrogen in check and look at issues from different angles before making a comment. Someone is wrong doesnt mean you’re right. Also, expecting everybody to be on your level of awesomeness or foolishness makes you lesser than Mr. Ibu on the stupid scale.

Life is already hard. Why give it Viagra or Burantashi? Calm down and process data before you give results. A statement can mean a totally different thing to some people. E.g the statement before this statement. Life is an eternal debate between good – bad, thin – fat, foolish – wise. People who argue sometimes find it hard to see the entertainment there in, needless to say; pass unbiased judgements. He may be right or wrong. She may be right or wrong. I’m never right or wrong. >:0)

Beyonce In Nigeria?

“I just wanna rip this dress, so that you can see tha Breasts…” she shrieks in her unsexy voice. Calm down. I know she said rest. My brain just prefers to hear breasts. At least if you’re gonna mind-fuck me, do it properly.

In case you’re lost, that line was taken from Tiwa Savages’ new single, ‘Without my heart’.

Relax. A lotta sensitive people with no sense, tried shoving their opinions down my throat after that Wande Coal post yesterday. Opinions about and not limited to Wande, Wizkid and of course Tiwa Savage.

Before I go on, please note clearly, I’m not an hater. I just belong to the school of thought that thinks if you’re gonna serve me Pina Colada, make sure it’s Pina Colada and not Palm wine.

Without My Heart – Tiwa Savage ft. Don Jazzy. <— Look at that. You’ll definitely wanna download and listen eh? Seen the single artwork/photo eh? Before you press play, what comes to your mind though? Mine is a dick-whipped black girl who thinks she’s Beyonce and wants her man to stay.

Ok, press play. What comes to your mind? Brick and Lace’s Love is wicked. What else? Rihanna’s Pon de replay. What else? Beyonce’s put a ring on it. What else? A little Salewa Abeni.

I press re-play. A Beyonce choreography plays in my head starring Tiwa Savage playing a dick-whipped western over-demanding slut, albeit not too well and Don Jazzy playing Jigga.

I press replay again. I pay attention to the lyrics. No surprise there. Her voice? I’ve heard better Cele church choristers. Is it a jam though? Not my kinda jam, but it’s quite playable. Will get many club plays, I think. But really, I don’t know how I would dance to it without looking like I’m auditioning for ‘Mortina’ Dance All.

Don Jazzy on the other hand, added value to this track. Seriously, the Naija flavored lyrics worked for him and his refrain will garner more interest for the single. I’ve always liked his playful way of singing though he’s not that much of a good vocalist. Days ago when Tiwa announced via Twitter that she’ll be dropping something hot featuring a big act, I thought it would be 9ice. I’ve listened, it isn’t nice. Watery Pun intended.

I don’t know what Tiwa Savage must have been thinking. Doesn’t she know Beyonce’s music hardly sells in Nigeria? I’m talking Compact Disc, not shows Dumbos! Most of her fans down here, have never ever bought her songs! Some of those that have, bought from Chukwudi down the road. If you’re gonna play a particular stereotype, at least do it well oh! How Tiwa intends making her brand commercially viable is not my headache, but this single is dangerously close to being labelled a confused track done by a copy-cat. I sure didn’t get mind-fucked nor teased while listening to this. Did you? If some chick sings this to me, I would smile, fuck her and still leave without her heart. Even if I’m a Ritual killer, I won’t leave with her heart. Ok I kid. Buh I sure as hell won’t take you seriously yo! This track just proves Okafor’s law is real mehnn.

When she first came on the scene, a lotta thirsty Dudes went gaga. To some dudes, Tiwa Savage’s supposed beauty covers up for her lack of talent. Yeah, I saw the ‘Love me x 3′ video and it was kool. She managed not to look like burnt sausage spotting a bum-short. Of course, I do not agree she’s that beautiful. Maybe she’s not my type, cuz really, banging a lepa on tha floor isn’t sexy. What is good for the Goose is good for the Gander if the Gander is Bi-sexual. So the rumour she’s hot isn’t a general notion please.

I agree she plays her slutty roles well though, so a video to this song is highly anticipated by The Ass-kissers and International Wankers Association of Nigeria (T.A.I.W.A.N). Compared to many upcoming female singers, Tiwa ranks higher than a select few. At least she tries not to just look like a Fulani Ashewo that knows how to sing in Yankee English.

Final Verdict: This track doesn’t show Tiwa’s supposed talent. However, It’s good entertainment. The refrains will be remembered. Nothing more. If this single was put up for sale, I might buy it just because Don Jazzy was on it (and that’s if the internet suddenly stops existing). Be careful Tiwa, we don’t want your career crashing down. Lepa on de floor.. Eh! Eh!

Wande Coal – The Eclipse?

Not many of us have had the opportunity to watch bacteria or viruses replicate or multiply under a microscope. Well something akin to that happened a few moments ago on Twitter. All thanks to Don Jazzy and his eternally thirsty fans.

Incase Obasanjo’s fart wiped you off the face of the map of Nigeria and you missed Don Jazzy’s exciting announcement, well here it is: 3 HOT SINGLES FROM WANDE COAL TONITE. Scratch the last word cuz it has already dropped.

So yeah off I went to Twitter to display some..erm..thirst without listening to the songs. Thanks to Don Jazzy again for whetting our appetite with that long ass wait only to make the sudden announcement and then leak the Wande Coal artwork and get us all talking. You should see how it multiplied on BBM after I put it up. I heard Tiwa Savage dropped a feature with Don Jazzy recently. Sorry, I read. Listened too. Deleted it after.

Needless to say, I downloaded and played Wande Coal’s songs. While people were struggling with slow connection and cursing 4shared, I was playing all three. THE THIRST. Oh yes, I have listened to GO LOW, BEEN LONG YOU SAW ME and PRIVATE TRIPS. I have listened and I still have a straight face. This is my 5th replay by the way.

I’m a bad ass Wande Coal fan you see, so it broke my heart when a few good listeners BBM-ed me with “Mmmcheeew!” after I sought some honest opinion. I really don’t know what to say, buh urm, this wasn’t what I was expecting to hear though the tracks are kool and playable and… you know. GO LOW will probably get more plays this month.

Final Verdict: Wande Coal should stop hanging out with Wizkid.

I have taken time to upload the tracks on SHEIFUNMI.NET just incase you’re still waiting on 4shared and all that jazz.

MIAMI MUSIC IS TOO DOPE FOR RADIO.

Here’s another brilliant effort from SHORTY ACE a.k.a Bembs. This single showcases brilliant lyrical prowess, wordplay and remarkable finesse.
SHORTY ACE on a dope beat produced by DJ PEEWEE, takes us on a mind trip to a neighborhood known for it’s class, beautiful women, leisure and beautiful scenery.. MIAMI in Florida and LEKKI in Eti – Osa Local Government area of Nigeria. These spots popular for their water side and the crowd it brings, is metaphored here as the after work lounging kinda life.

Playfully throwing jabs and coveting fans, SHORTY ACE, always, gee’d up from the feet up, with his unique and almost laid back kinda flow, traps brilliant minds and gently takes them on cruises through his lifestyle. MIAMI MUSIC mixed by GEE REIGNS shows BEMBS as one Emcee you’ll keep having on your playlist.

DISCOGRAPHY

Popular for crossing enemy lines trying to find Glory, Confidence Okey a.k.a Shorty Ace, was born June the 13th, to an Engineer/Educator/Poet father and a teacher mother who is a strict disciplinarian. Developed a skill for Rap in Omole grammar school. Joined the Choir one Sunday at Church but got kicked out for making jokes and teasing other Choristers.

Influenced by his Elder Brother – Chilly, who nicknamed him Shorty. His brother brought home tracks from Ice cube, Dre, Easy E, Daz Efx and the likes. Confidence spent most of his time reciting rhymes from Snoop Dogg, 2pac, Notorious B.I.G, Junior and Pretty, Mase and so on. In 1998, he formed a rap group called Bad Bonez (Blessed and Designated Breed of Niggaz, Ever Zealous) along wit Big Khaleef and Chedda. He later changed the group name to Hoodstars in 2004. They went on to perform at most street carnivals within Ogba in Lagos, between 1998 and 2000.

He gained admission into Babcock University to study Computer Information Systems in 2000.  He then linked up with Scolly MacGreen and got affiliated with the 5th Ave Gang. In University he spent leisure time battling M.C’s and recorded tracks with Scolly, Phizzle, Ain Mosni (formerly known as Rogueman), Demphis and super producer JRS. Served his fatherland in Yobe and got a job with a Bank (names witheld) as a Network Engineer in 2006. He recorded his first ever solo project in 2008. Till date a dozen tracks have been recorded but never released. Known by aliases such as Lucky Lefty, The Lieutenant and Bembs (short for Bembele which is the most notable).

Regardless of his 9 – 5, his passion for the hip hop culture and rap music keeps him going to the studio every other weekend. If you don’t find him in a suit at work winking at the Boss’ secretary, you can find him posted on the blocks of Oluwole Estate in Ogba, late evening rapping and kicking it with T Kash, Cwitch and a host of others. “I am Hip Hop..” he says.

“SAY IT AGAIN” – X.O SENAVOE

Serving as the lead single to the forthcoming ‘X Point 0 E.P’ from fast-rising Hip-Hop star X.O Senavoe, this “Say It Again” opus – filled with sublime live drums and grandiose synth patterns, produced by Kid Konnect – is exactly what fans and critics alike have been waiting for from Senavoe as he excellently highlights his immense lyrical prowess and captivates the listener with his catchy delivery and flow over the colossal sound.

Taking the “when your chic blowing you kisses, she’s really saying my name”, line from one of his breakout tracks – 2010’s “Victory”, transforming it into the hook of the brand new “Say It Again” and surrounding that hook with three heavy-laden verses of quotable after quotable after quotable, X.O Senavoe shows us exactly why he is considered as a tour de force among African Hip-Hop spheres and with the XPoint0 E.P firmly on the way, Senavoe is poised to turn the whole game on its head.

ABOUT X.O SENAVOE

X.O Senavoe – one of the most exciting breakout artists to grace the public’s attention – has rapidly risen from an enigma, a name whispered among industry insiders, to an artist widely sought after by artists for collaborations and music consumers alike. His confident and consistently laudable delivery captures the ears of his audience instantly, while his superior lyrical dexterity captures their minds with the imagery he projects in his words.

Of Ghanaian and Nigerian heritage, X.O Senavoe – who took part in the first ever BET Nigerian Cypher earlier this year – has rapidly become one of the most talked about African artists and revered rappers in 2011 and is currently on the verge of putting out his highly anticipated free project XPoint0 to be followed shortly by his debut album It’s Possible.

Successfully churning out back to back hits, X.O Senavoe has proven that not only is he the best at what he does, but he is also able to provide that much needed consistency with regards to his art.

In his own words, “I don’t claim to be the best, being the best claims me…”
